At least two Picasso paintings, worth a total of €50 million (US$66 million), have been stolen from the artist’s granddaughter’s home in Paris. The paintings, “Maya and the Doll” and “Portrait of Jacqueline,” have disappeared and will probably be never seen again. The Art Loss Register, which maintains the world’s largest database on stolen, missing and looted art, currently lists 444 missing Picasso pieces, including paintings, lithographs, drawings and ceramics.
It would be really unfortunate, if these pieces of art are locked up in some private collector’s locker, never to be seen again. Here are the latest stolen paintings.
Nike has released its first-ever Cricket commercial in India. The ad shows how cricket crazy indians really are. It’s pure chaos and a lot of fun.
Snip from the creators of the ad :
The game in the ad is being played in a traffic jam and captures the chaos and disorder of an everyday cricket field in India, where there could be 21 matches being played at the same time!.” “We wanted to show how cricket is played on the streets in India. These players are as tough, mean and hard (as international cricketers). On our streets in India, cricket is played in the toughest, meanest and best way. It also shows a microcosm of India.

Bastard magazine is a submission driven art and design magazine. The magazine is driven by artists and submitters who contribute regularly. The issues of the magazine are offered for free in a pdf format.
More from the creators :
It is a colorfoul (?) mix of illustrations, design and photography, with a wide variety of angles, themes and styles. We are keen to present a broad range of styles. Every 2 months artists and designers present themselves in the magazine, featuring work that is of high quality but little known amongst a wider audience.
Bastard dispenses entirely with editional contributions. We want to present visual art in it’s purest form. The magazines strives to present only the work itself and nothing more. No biographical information regarding the creators of the work, no review or assessment of the work, and no other form of written content that could influence or inform the reader further than the immediate emotional response that the work itself prompts.
The issues are a must download for all you art and design lovers out there. Link to the magazine site. (Some of the contents are nsfw).
Jim Carrey does a perfect imitation of David Caruso (of CSI fame) on the Dave Letterman show. He got everything right. Down to the slurring speech. Hilarious Video.

The new Ford Mustang Ads are great examples of creative marketing at its best. The Billboard ads break through the clutter and definitely create an impression on our jaded minds. The billboards are made from semi-transparent Lexan, and blur the background scenery in a way that manages to convey a sense of speed. Great stuff. Link to the advertisements.
This picture is probably one of the coolest pictures you will see today. The image is actually a three photograph panorama digitally processed to reduce red reflections from the exploding firework. There are three types of fireworks in this photograph. One is man-made and the other two are celestial. The fireworks were exploded as part of Australia Day celebrations. On the far right, lightning from a thunderstorm can be seen in the distance. The most stunning though, is a rare celestial event captured right in the middle of the photograph.
