Comic Vine is a self-proclaimed “social encyclopedia for comic book lovers that everyone can edit”. Though Wikipedia has its own pages for characters from Marvel Comics and DC Comics, Comic Vine is only dedicated to comic book characters.The Site has some unique features, which sets it apart from others. It not only features the usual biographies and synopsis of the story arcs, but also allows us to let the characters “battle” it out against each other, and allow us decide who wins the standoff.
The characters are rated by users, which creates some unique rankings like ‘Attractive Female’, ‘Invulnerability’, ‘Divine Powers’ etc. The process is entirely democratic and the results can often be quite surprising. The site also has an active forum and links to comic themed blogs. Overall, a comic book lover’s dream come true.
