The music business, like every other business, always had its share of loonies and wackos. While some of the stars crumbled under the harsh glare of the spotlight, others found their pre-existing paranoia and darker side nurtured by it. These talented geniuses, harbored inner demons which manifested themselves under extreme pressure.

Blender Magazine has compiled a list of the top 50 craziest Pop and Rock Stars. The crazy behaviour of the stars on the list can be alternatively shocking, scary or downright funny. Some of the artistes like Sid Vicious and Jim Gordon, actually make Britney look like a Girl Scout. The number one star on the list is actually no surprise, so no points for guessing.
