The Chronotronix V400 is a cleverly designed Clock, which combines vacuum tubes and state of the art electronics. The base is made of cherry wood and the tubes themselves are set on black anodized aluminum, which gives it a futuristic look. The clock even has inbuilt batteries to keep it going, when no electricity is available. The coolness factor of this clock is off the scale. The only disappointment is the price though – a mind numbing $385. Still, it’s a very interesting and desirable combination of art and technology.

These stunning Guitars are made of Aluminum and are carved by CNC machines. The Guitars are on sale and you can even buy the CNC Designs soon. The designs can be fed into a CNC machine, which would then carve the designs on a block of Aluminum.I am sure, Tenacious D, would love to have one.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of cars are stolen in America. Complex Auto Security Systems, can be easily be foiled by the present generation of tech savvy thieves. In this game of oneupmanship, the consumers are usually the losers. The creators of this new car security system, must have had a great sense of humor. They have created a one of a kind system, to confound the car thieves, at least for the time being.Watch the video.
The controversial Ann Coulter in now being featured on X-Wipes now. Guess they got her to shut up for once. The paper is only for novelty purposes and the site says that the ink will run if used.
Snip from the site:
For being a shrill, lying, racist, homophobic, publicity-hungry demagogue who destroys civil discourse with hate speech.CONGRATULATIONS ANN COULTER — you are a fool — democratically elected to:Two-Ply Cottony Softness! FACE the FECES !!

Paul Graham has written a provocative essay on the end of Microsoft. He claims that Microsoft has been killed by four upstarts – Google, Ajax, Broadband and Apple. Nothing is permanent in technology. The same upstarts may be overshadowed by others. While Paul Graham has a wealth of experience in the field of technology (he proposed the idea of Bayesian Spam Filters), and though Microsoft has lost its mantle of a savage conqueror, it’s still too early to write an obituary. Read the essay and make up your mind.Link to the essay.

The host of Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson, has come under attack in the Malaysian parliament for his tirade on one of the country’s cars – the Perodua Kelisa. Jeremy is not exactly a poster child for subtlety, and he proved it by bluntly calling it the “worst car in the world” and “unimaginative junk, with no soul, no flair and no passion”. He later smashed the car with a sledgehammer, before blowing it up.

The style of graffiti art varies from nation to nation. The artists (who are usually poor and not formally trained) vent their frustration and anger in the form of street art. It is a symbolic form of protest against the ‘Man‘.Some may consider this art form as an eyesore, but the intentions of the artists are quite clear. They don’t want us to ignore their existence.
The gallery of crime has a big collection of crime comic book covers of the 1940s and 1950s. The covers themselves are a play on the usual stereotypes of those times. Though the comics are very tame by today’s standards, they must have been racy reads in their heyday. The galleries feature covers from provocatively titled comic books like ‘ Gangsters and Gun Molls‘ and ‘Shock – Adult Psychoanalytical tales‘. There are some absolute gems to be found, if you look around.

A entire Museum dedicated to Knock-offs. Who could have ever imagined ? The MuseumPlagarius fittingly opened on Apr.1, in the German City of Soligen, near Cologne. It is housed in a converted railway building, and exhibits original products along with their cheap fakes. The items come from the annual Plagiarius awards, which are presented at the prestigious trade fair Ambiente in Frankfurt. The fakes were submitted by the original designers, perhaps in desperation to draw attention to the worldwide problem of counterfeiting.
The fakes range from Gucci reading glasses to my personal favorite – the rather painful looking Urology Set.

This guy supposedly found mummified remains of fairies and created an elaborate story to support his claims. He claimed that he found them, while walking in the Derbyshire Countryside. The fairies were allegedly anatomically correct, but had no reproductive organs. He revealed the entire thing to be a hoax, today – the 1st of April.
As you can see, the Fairies are no doubt, inspired by the ones in Pan’s Labyrinth.Fairies and hoaxes have a long connection. The most infamous of them all, was the Cottingley Fairies hoax, which had even Sir Arthur Conan Doyle fooled. But these are different and harsher times, and we have stopped believing in fairies, a long time ago.

Here is Kermit doing a rather depressing cover of the Nine Inch Nails song ‘Hurt‘. No wonder Miss Piggy left him. If Big Bird ever takes a guitar and starts singing depressing songs, I will shoot myself.
