Dove Onslaught Ad

This is Dove’s follow-up to the ‘Evolution’ commercial. Titled ‘Onslaught’, Dove wants to strike a chord among parents, with this new advertisement. While the concept is to be appreciated, the ad remains a commercial vehicle meant to sell soap/beauty products. It has been carefully “designed” to break through the clutter and provide brand recall. Still, full marks for creativity. And if it gets parents talking to their adolescent children, who are we to complain ?

Wall-E Official Movie Trailer

Disney has released the latest official trailer for Pixar’s forthcoming film ‘Wall-E’. The film is about a cute little robot named Wall-E in the distant future, and his adventurous voyage of self-discovery. At least, that is what I got from the plot synopsis. Finding Nemo (loved that movie) Director Andrew Staunton does the directing honors here.

Pixar hopes that he will bring back the same magic to this film. As the last few Pixar films performed below expectations (Box Office wise), we can expect Disney to hit us with all they’ve got. That means a blending of Pixar’s technical virtuosity and Disney’s emotional appeal for kids from 3 to 80.

I can’t shake off the feeling that Wall-E looks suspiciously similar to Number 5 (a.k.a. Johnny 5) from Short Circuit. Wall-E looks like the long-lost illegitimate child of E.T. and Johnny 5.

First, watch the trailer for Short Circuit 2.
