Great, if somewhat shocking,  video compilation of children going completely ballistic after getting a Nintendo Wii as a surprise Christmas present. I couldn’t help but smile.

Racist Dennis the Menace Cartoon Strip

This particularly racist Dennis the Menace cartoon strip was published  in the U.S. in 1970.

Dennis the Menace - Racist

The outraged reactions to the cartoon made at least one newspaper, The Cleveland Press, to actually print an apology instead of the next installment of the strip on the following day.

The rare cartoon has been featured in Backstage at the Strips, a book by cartoonist  Mort Walker (of Beetle Bailey fame).

Wireless Key Finder

The Wireless Key Finder helps you find your lost keys at the press of a button.

The gadget comes with two color-coded key fobs, that can be attached to your keys. Simply pressing on the pager buttons on the key finder will make the matching key fob respond with a loud alarm.

The makers claim that the device can locate keys up to 60 feet away.

The Wireless Key Finder is priced at a reasonable $49.95.

Ascension, a short film directed by Stephen Irwin (not ‘The Crocodile Hunter’), tells the story of Timothy, a nerd and bumbling  trainspotter, who stumbles into the wrong flat during a power cut, and accidentally manages to interrupt a human sacrifice ritual by a secret cult.

The film has plenty of funny moments and a twist ending too.

Watch it after the jump.

Watch a surreal and trippy music video for the song ‘Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants’, the second single from the British band Wild Beasts debut album -  Limbo Panto.

The visual effect in the video is known as the ‘Droste Effect’, a technique pioneered by graphic artist and illustrator M.C. Droste. The directors of the video, OneInThree, were able to adapt the technique  and apply it to the video.

Visit this huge Flickr gallery to see some cool imagery created using the technique.

You can also read this tutorial by Josh Summers to create your own Droste images using Gimp and the Mathmap Plugin.
