Underwater Armageddon – Nature’s Great Events Documentary

Nature’s Great Events is a documentary series fully filmed on HD, and aired on BBC One and BBC HD.

Nature's Great Events - The Great Tide- Dolphins & Sardines

Narrated by the the grand old man of broadcasting, Sir David Attenborough, the 60 minute episodes showcase spectacular natural events, which have had  a huge impact on eco-systems and their inhabitants since time immemorial.

Watch a short clip taken from “The Great Tide”, the fourth episode of the series (I do recommend watching it fullscreen on YouTube.)

A mighty army of dolphins, sharks, whales, seals and gannets hunt down the billions of sardines along South Africa’s east coast each winter. This is the sardine run: an underwater Armageddon, the greatest gathering of predators anywhere on the planet, and the most spectacular event in the world’s oceans.

Unfortunately, US residents will have to wait for the series to be broadcast on the Discovery Channel. The first episode -The Great Melt- is floating around on the net, though. :)
