My, oh, my! Look how things have changed.
Aqua, the most successful-ever Danish pop group, were a worldwide phenomenon in the late ‘90s, no small thanks to their monster hit single – “Barbie Girl.”
The single’s playfully risqué lyrics and double entendres created a lot of controversy, and things came to a head, when Mattel, the makers of Barbie® dolls, sued the band for copyright infringement.
Now, in a bizarre turn of events, Mattel is using the same song (minus all the sexual innuendo) as a promotional song for their flagship product.
So, without much further ado, here is “The Barbie®.”
