“Runaway” – Illustrations Created For Vanmoof Bikes

love-agency-vanmoof-2

A set of illustrations commissioned by Love Agency, and drawn by Rokas Smigelskas, Ana Albero, Jekaterina Budryte for Vanmoof, a bicycle company based in Holland.

Vanmoof is a brand of hip city bicycles, which is quite expensive compared to the competitors. Mainly, they are functional, super simple and beautiful. A perfect product for hipsters and people working in creative industries. We’ve created different posters for each type, imagining awkward or difficult situations which could be solved by having a bike. All prints end in phrase "You need a Vanmoof", the Vanmoof part represented by shot of the bike.

Check out the other illustrations after the jump.

Art From Bad Dads II – A Tribute To The Films of Wes Anderson

Show-Flyer-by-Joshua-Budich

Spoke Art, an art gallery based in San Francisco, is presenting “Bad Dads – Round II,” an art show tribute to the films of auteur Wes Anderson. The exhibition is a follow-up to their last year’s show, which featured some great art by some of the brightest stars and upcoming talent in the contemporary art world.

This year wont be any different, and nearly 70 talented artists will bring to life on canvas the underlying themes of “family issues, notably father issues,” in Anderson’s films.

The show will have its opening night on Saturday October 29th and Sunday October 30, 2011, 6pm – 11pm, and will be on view through November 25, 2011.

Visit the Spoke Art site for more details.

Ian Langohr’s Surreal Masks

Ian-Langohr-Nest

Artist Ian Langohr’s wonderfully surreal masks were fabricated with techniques that he learned while working at a mascot production company.

The masks produce a narrative upon investigation of both their bodily and animal components. Ian’s masks tell stories that contrast themes of melancholy and anxiety with that of absurdity and humour. Conflicts are presented within the masks through the manipulation of scale. These are meant to be allegorical, often reflecting issues of domesticity and personal identity.

Ian’s carvings and weird machines also seem to share the same surrealist philosophy and aesthetic. He undertakes commissions, which I know will certainly be interesting news to some of you.

Ian is a BFA from the Ontario College of Art and Design, and is currently based in Montreal, Canada.

The Art of Peatree Bojangles

Peatree-Bojangles-american-psycho

The super-awesomely named Peatree Bojangles (NSFW) is a trained artist and illustrator from London, who creates brilliant pop culture-infused digital art. Though her works look like manipulated photographs, they are actually hand-sketched photo-realistic illustrations, which she scans or photographs and then works on in Photoshop.

Peatree also maintains a blog, where she shares her unique (read edgy, but hilarious) rants and insights about surviving life on this planet of ours. She is also a must follow on Twitter.

You can buy prints of her illustrations here.
